Social Work Degree Programmes

The social work undergraduate degree and masters degree in social work are the professional qualifications for social workers. The programmes are designed to equip students to be ready for the demanding role of being a newly qualified social worker. Placements

In addition to completing academic requirements, you will also need to complete a range of placement opportunities. The time spent on placement is an opportunity to engage with individuals who access care services and carers to develop skills in building professional relationships. Placements will also reflect your learning needs and career aspirations.
Placements can be in various sectors:

  • Statutory
  • Voluntary
  • Independent
You will be assessed whilst completing your placement by being observed by a practice assessor and, in addition, you will be expected to complete a portfolio of evidence.
