Safeguarding

What is Safeguarding and why is it important?

Safeguarding means protecting people’s health, well-being and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. Safeguarding is everyone’s business. Social care staff and staff from other organisations have a shared responsibility to ensure we actively prevent abuse and safeguard individuals at risk.

Courses provided by the Workforce Development Service aim to increase awareness and understanding of safeguarding.
