Emergency First Aid at Work (Certificate)

Duration : 1 days
Prerequisites : Participants must bring photographic ID (Staff card, passport or driver's licence). If no ID provided the participant will be refused to take part in the event. Participants need to be physically capable of demonstrating CPR techniques at floor level. For safety reasons participants will be required to wear comfortable clothing, preferably trousers and suitable footwear for the practical nature of the event e.g. trainers or similar enclosed flat shoes.
Target Audience : All Staff within Health and Social Care

Learning Outcomes

Understand the role and responsibilities of the first aider and be able to assess an emergency situation safely.

Be able to provide first aid for an adult who is unresponsive and breathing normally.

Be able to provide first aid for an adult who is unresponsive and not breathing normally and understand correct use of the AED.

Be able to provide first aid for an adult who is choking.

Be able to provide first aid to an adult with external bleeding and who is suffering from shock.

Understand how to administer first aid to an adult with bites, stings and minor injuries.
